WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS
FOR SOCIAL AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Cote d’Ivoire
Project justification
QGMI is partnering with US-based ABD Group, which has invited us to carry out the design and construction of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and a sewage pumping station for six affordable housing projects in the Abidjan Autonomous District. These social and affordable housing projects, in turn, have been developed as part of the Government of Cote d’Ivoire’s programme to increase the supply of affordable housing in urban areas.
Scope of Works
QGMI’s scope of work will include the following:
- Construction of five wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) located in the cities of Addoha, Akwaba, Kassemblé, Palmeraie and Batim, including a pumping station, using conventional activated sludge technology for a 15-year project horizon to attend approximately 250 thousand inhabitants.
Sustainability
The Project will be developed in line with international standards (IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines, OECD Common Approaches) and national regulations. In constructing these WWTPs, a net positive impact on sanitation and water quality is expected.
